Osmania University (B.E.): no official formula.

Other sites give you a number. The university’s own B.E. rules don’t. Here’s what they do say, and how to get a figure you can use.

What the B.E. rules say — and don’t

The Faculty of Engineering Rules and Regulations for the four-year B.E. (2018-19) define how SGPA and CGPA are calculated and require a minimum CGPA of 5.00 for the degree. They contain no formula for converting CGPA into a percentage.

Clause 6.2 of those rules:

SGPA = Σ (letter grade point × credits) ÷ Σ credits — calculated only when every subject of the semester is cleared. CGPA = Σ (SGPA × total credits) ÷ Σ total credits.

Calculator sites quote at least three different “official” Osmania formulas. Without an Osmania document stating one, this site won’t pick one for you. If you need a percentage, ask the university’s Examination Branch for a conversion, and use the figure it gives you.

Only the 2018-19 B.E. rules were checked. If you have a newer Osmania regulation that states a conversion, send it to me.

What you can still work out

Common questions

Is Osmania CGPA × 10 the percentage?

Not according to any Osmania document this site has found. The B.E. rules give no conversion. A plain × 10 is arithmetic, not an Osmania rule — ask the Examination Branch for an official figure.
