Attendance calculator

How many classes you can skip and stay above the line — or how many you must attend, without missing one, to get back. Your university’s page adds its own condonation rules.

% — 75% is the usual minimum

How it’s worked out: attendance % = attended ÷ held × 100. You can skip ⌊attended × 100 ÷ target − held⌋ more classes; to recover, attend ⌈(target × held − 100 × attended) ÷ (100 − target)⌉ in a row.

Most Indian engineering colleges ask for 75%, but the rule that applies is your own university’s — including whether it counts each subject or the total, and how it treats medical leave. Check your regulations.

Common questions

How is “classes I can miss” worked out?

It’s the largest number x where attended ÷ (held + x) stays at or above your target. For 48 of 60 at 75%, that’s 4 — a fifth absence takes you to 73.8%.

Is it per subject or overall?

That depends on your university. JNTUH and JNTUK count the aggregate across subjects; VTU and Anna University count each course separately. For every subject at once, use the subject-wise bunk planner.

Can I turn my attendance into something to share?

Yes — the Bunk Report card turns your numbers into a title like Precision Bunker or Front-Bench Legend. The preview is free.

What about condonation?

Condonation rules differ a lot — some universities allow a fee-based condonation down to 65%, some allow only medical exclusions. Use your university’s page for the rule that applies to you.
