How is this worked out?
This page follows R22. Students admitted from 2025–26 onward are on R25, which changed the promotion rule and dropped the separate internal-marks minimum — they should use the JNTUH R25 page.

Your SGPA from your results
Paste your JNTUH result table, or type each subject’s grade and credits.
Each line needs a JNTUH grade (O, A+, A, B+, B, C, F, Ab) followed by its credits, which is how result pages list them. The subjects go into the SGPA calculator below, where you can check and correct every row. Paste several semesters together to get your CGPA.
Official source: JNTUH R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations (official PDF). SGPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits. The SGPA method is clause 9.8 and the grade points are clause 9.2. Last checked 22 September 2026. Enter every semester’s subjects together and the same sum gives your CGPA. The percentage next to it applies the CGPA formula to a single semester, so read it as an estimate.

Marks you need to pass
How much you need in the end exam, given your internal marks.
| Grade | Total needed | Exam marks needed |
|---|
Official source: JNTUH R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations (official PDF). Marks split and pass rule: clauses 8.1 and 7.1 of R22. Clause 7.1 also asks for at least 35% of the mid-term average (out of 25) within your internals — check that line on your internal marks sheet too. Last checked 22 September 2026.
The exam minimum never moves: good internals lower what you need only down to that floor. This rule is for theory subjects; labs, projects and audit courses are assessed differently.
Attendance
Whether you can still sit the exam, and how many classes you can miss.
Official source: JNTUH R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations (official PDF). Attendance rules: clauses 6.1 to 6.4 of R22. JNTUH counts attendance in aggregate and needs 75%. Between 65% and 75%, the college academic committee may condone the shortage for genuine reasons on payment of a fee; below 65%, condonation is ruled out. Last checked 22 September 2026.
Where condonation exists, it is a request your college makes for stated reasons — not something you are owed. If you land in the middle band, raise it with your college straight away.
Will I be promoted to the next year?
Check your credits against the promotion rule.
| Promotion | Credits required | Out of | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1st year → 2nd year | 20 | 40 | 50% |
| 2nd year → 3rd year | 48 | 80 | 60% |
| 3rd year → 4th year | 72 | 120 | 60% |
Official source: JNTUH R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations (official PDF) and JNTUH R22 B.Tech Revised Academic Regulations (official PDF). Promotion thresholds: clause 7.3 of the R22 B.Tech regulations. Last checked 22 September 2026.
Keep two things in mind. Only credits you have actually secured count — a backlog adds nothing until it is cleared. And universities have relaxed these limits for particular years before, so a circular for your batch overrides this page.

Common questions
What is the JNTUH CGPA to percentage formula?
Under R22 B.Tech, it is % of Marks = (final CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Taken word for word from clause 11.2 of JNTUH’s R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations.
Is JNTUH CGPA multiplied by 9.5?
No. The × 9.5 rule belongs to CBSE’s old school grading, not to JNTUH. Using it gives a different number from the one on your marks memo — for a CGPA of 8.2, × 9.5 gives 77.9%, while the official rule gives 77%.
Which JNTUH regulation does this page cover?
R22 B.Tech only. This page follows R22. Students admitted from 2025 26 onward are on R25, which changed the promotion rule and dropped the separate internal-marks minimum they should use the JNTUH R25 page. If you are under JNTUH R25 (2025–26 intake onward), use that page instead.

Can I calculate SGPA straight from my results page?
Yes. Open “Your SGPA from your results” above, copy the rows of your result table and paste them in. It reads each subject’s grade and credits and fills the SGPA calculator, where you can check every row before trusting the figure.
Where does this formula come from?
From JNTUH R22 B.Tech Academic Regulations (official PDF), checked on 22 September 2026. If your university issues a conversion certificate, the figure on it is the one to use.
Is my data stored?
