Official source: NTA press release of 20 April 2026, Declaration of the Result/NTA Scores for JEE (Main) 2026 Paper 1 (official PDF). It reports 15,38,468 unique candidates who appeared across the January and April sessions, and the category cut-offs in the table. Last checked 23 September 2026.
What is official and what is estimated. The cut-offs are NTA’s own figures. The rank is our arithmetic — (100 − percentile) ÷ 100 × candidates, plus one — because NTA does not publish a percentile-to-rank formula. Percentiles are worked out session by session and ties share a score, so treat the rank as a guide, not your scorecard.
Common questions
Is the rank official?
No. NTA publishes percentiles and cut-offs, not a percentile-to-rank formula. The rank here is arithmetic on NTA’s own candidate count, clearly labelled. Your scorecard is the only official rank.
Are the cut-offs official?
Yes. They are copied from NTA’s press release of 20 April 2026, which lists the NTA score each category needed to be eligible for JEE (Advanced) 2026.
Which percentile do I enter?
Your final NTA score. If you sat both sessions, NTA uses the better of the two.
