This page follows R25, which starts with the 2025–26 intake. Anyone admitted earlier is on R22 or an older regulation, with different promotion and pass rules — use the JNTUH R22 page.
Official source: JNTUH R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations, V2 (official PDF). Taken word for word from clause 19.1 of the R25 B.Tech regulations — the same formula as R22, now under a new clause number (R22 had it at 11.2). Last checked 22 September 2026. Your SGPA from your results
Paste your JNTUH R25 result table, or type each subject’s grade and credits.
Each line needs a JNTUH R25 grade (O, A+, A, B+, B, C, F, Ab) followed by its credits, which is how result pages list them. The subjects go into the SGPA calculator below, where you can check and correct every row. Paste several semesters together to get your CGPA.
Official source: JNTUH R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations, V2 (official PDF). SGPA = Σ(credits × grade points) ÷ Σ credits. Grade points: clause 10.3 of R25. Last checked 22 September 2026. Enter every semester’s subjects together and the same sum gives your CGPA. The percentage next to it applies the CGPA formula to a single semester, so read it as an estimate.

Marks you need to pass
How much you need in the end exam, given your internal marks.
| Grade | Total needed | Exam marks needed |
|---|
Official source: JNTUH R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations, V2 (official PDF). Clauses 9.1 and 8.1 of R25: internals are out of 40 and the end exam out of 60; you pass with at least 21 of 60 in the end exam and 40 of 100 overall. Last checked 22 September 2026.
The exam minimum never moves: good internals lower what you need only down to that floor. This regulation sets no separate minimum for internals, so low internals alone do not fail the subject here.
Attendance
Whether you can still sit the exam, and how many classes you can miss.
Official source: JNTUH R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations, V2 (official PDF). Attendance rules: clauses 7.1, 7.2 and 7.5 of R25. R25 keeps the R22 attendance rule: 75% in aggregate. The college academic committee may condone a shortage between 65% and 75% for genuine reasons; below 65% it cannot. Last checked 22 September 2026.
Where condonation exists, it is a request your college makes for stated reasons — not something you are owed. If you land in the middle band, raise it with your college straight away.
Will I be promoted to the next year?
Check your credits against the promotion rule.
| Promotion | Requirement | Of what |
|---|---|---|
| 1st year → 2nd year | 25% of the credits | the total credits up to the end of first year, second semester |
| 2nd year → 3rd year | 25% of the credits | the total credits up to the end of second year, second semester |
| 3rd year → 4th year | No credit requirement | R25 sets no credit condition here — clause 14.0 only asks for a regular course of study and the attendance requirement |
Official source: JNTUH R25 B.Tech Academic Regulations, V2 (official PDF). Promotion rules: clause 14.0 of R25. Credits from every relevant regular and supplementary exam count, whether or not you wrote them. Last checked 22 September 2026.
Keep two things in mind. Only credits you have actually secured count — a backlog adds nothing until it is cleared. And universities have relaxed these limits for particular years before, so a circular for your batch overrides this page.

Common questions
What is the JNTUH R25 CGPA to percentage formula?
Under R25 B.Tech, it is Percentage (%) of Marks = (Final CGPA − 0.5) × 10. Taken word for word from clause 19.1 of the R25 B.Tech regulations — the same formula as R22, now under a new clause number (R22 had it at 11.2).
Is JNTUH R25 CGPA multiplied by 9.5?
No. The × 9.5 rule belongs to CBSE’s old school grading, not to JNTUH R25. Using it gives a different number from the one on your marks memo — for a CGPA of 8.2, × 9.5 gives 77.9%, while the official rule gives 77%.
Which JNTUH R25 regulation does this page cover?
R25 B.Tech only. This page follows R25, which starts with the 2025 26 intake. Anyone admitted earlier is on R22 or an older regulation, with different promotion and pass rules use the JNTUH R22 page. If you are under JNTUH R22 (admitted before 2025–26), use that page instead.
