Final exam grade calculator

What you need on the final — and the two numbers that decide what you do next: the best you can still finish on, and what you keep if the exam goes badly.

How it’s worked out: needed = (target − current × (1 − w)) ÷ w. Take the weight from your own course outline — the answer changes a lot between a 70/30 and a 60/40 split. If internals are given in marks, turn them into a percentage first.

Common questions

Where do I find the weight of the final?

In your course outline or academic regulation. Don’t guess — a 70/30 course and a 60/40 course give different answers.

Does this work for Indian university exams with separate pass minimums?

Not on its own, because many universities also set a minimum in the end exam. Use the pass marks calculator on your university’s page, which checks every condition.
